Dr, Onoda at JAXA Party with Washington monument
Washington CORE invited Marsha Goodman-Wood to sing at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) farewell party for departing DC JAXA Office Director, Dr. Masami Onoda.
Introduced by Kazue Muroi, Senior Manager of Washington CORE, the American singer/songwriter enchanted the more than 200 guests celebrating on the roof top of the JAXA DC headquarters. The group particularly enjoyed Goodman-Wood’s song about the JAXA rover which landed upside down on the moon during a recent mission but kept sending valuable data back to Earth. The lyrics go, “It was a pinpoint landing — flew all the way from Japan. Showed you can win, even if it doesn’t go according to plan!” The song was the perfect good-bye to Dr. Onoda, who leaves an impressive legacy of Japan-U.S. space cooperation.
Ms. Goodman-Wood leads a DC-based kindie (kids + indie) band, Marsha and the Positrons, and writes fun songs about science and how the world works with positive social messages for children and families.” (please check https://www.marshaandthepositrons.com/ )
